
Leonora Masini
Biography
Leonora graduated from the International University of Siena with a BA in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication and a certificate in Certification of Competence in Teaching Italian to Foreigners (DITALS). She was awarded a doctoral degree from Brown University in 2022, with a thesis entitled To Educate is to Civilize: Educational Campaigns through Cinema in British and Italian Colonial Rules (1910-1945). From August 2022 to June 2024, she served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Slavery and Public Humanities at the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice at Brown University. The Brown Office of Postdoctoral Affairs awarded her the 2024 Postdoctoral Excellence Award for Teaching and Research. She is currently working as a Research Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow in the Italian Department at University College Cork.
